Who is it for?
- People who want to harmonize the size, profile or tip of their nose with their features.
- Those who have trouble breathing due to a deviated septum (it can be combined with septoplasty).
- Adult patients in good general health and with realistic expectations.
What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that modifies the bone and cartilage structure of the nose. It can be aesthetic (harmonizing the shape with the rest of the face), functional (improving breathing) or both. When the nasal septum is also corrected, it is called septorhinoplasty.
What the process is like
It all begins with a consultation in which Dr. Hirosi assesses your nose, listens to your goals and reviews your general health. When applicable, 3D or 2D simulation is used as a guiding reference. From there, the surgical plan, technique and the most suitable type of anesthesia for your case are defined.
Recovery
Recovery varies from person to person and with the technique used. Swelling is common and, in some cases, a splint during the first days. Dr. Hirosi provides detailed aftercare instructions and follows up with you at every stage until your recovery.
Considerations and safety
Like any surgery, rhinoplasty carries risks that are clearly explained during the consultation. Having it performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon, in appropriate facilities and with safety protocols, is the best way to protect your health. Dr. Hirosi is certified by the CMCPER (reg. 2383).
Frequently asked questions
Does rhinoplasty leave visible scars?
It depends on the technique. In many cases the incisions are internal or very discreet; Dr. Hirosi explains the planned approach for your case during the consultation.
Can rhinoplasty improve my breathing?
Yes. When there is a functional component —such as a deviated septum— the surgery can be combined with a septoplasty to improve nasal function.
At what age can rhinoplasty be performed?
It is generally performed on adult patients, once facial development is complete. Each case is assessed individually.
Can I see a simulation of my result before surgery?
When the case allows it, 3D or 2D simulation is used as a reference to visualize an estimated projection. It is a guiding tool, not a guarantee of results.
